Very friendly and helpful staff.
The room offered was a very good value
The roof top bar was nice and pleasant, but not well utilized.
The breakfast was adequate but not outstanding. Too much effort in terms of number of cakes which isn't my idea of a breakfast.

At the southwestern tip of its beautiful lake, Como has wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A cable car runs up to the village of Brunate, where you can see Switzerland on the opposite side.
The peaceful location is a favorite with celebs, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next-door Broletto dates to the previous century, and the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello are even older and sit on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style, the Casa del Fascio was built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighboring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodations on Booking.com include luxury lakefront hotels, centrally located B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, with direct services to Milan.

Como city itself can be visited in a day, after that the best is to take the bus and visit the cities around the lake like Mennagio - from there, take the ferry (7€/person total) and go visit Bellagio and Varenna.
You can visit villas; such as Carlotta (just before Mennagio) or Olmo (in Como).
In total, a trip between 2 and 3 days (max) is perfect.

Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Recommend taking a trip on the fernicular for the views and a meal / drinks in the Locanda Milano hotel while up there.
Plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from in the city. The eateries with a view of the Cathederal are obviously more expensive than others further afield but not necessarily any better fare.
I was expecting it to be eye wateringly expensive but was pleasantly surprised that it was comparable to London / Brighton prices.
Advise picking up a street map from tourist info as the narrow streets can look very similar!

Stunning location, recommend you get up early to get the first boat to other towns on the lake. You have no queues, similarly with the funicular. We got an early car up to Brunate. Came down at 1pm and the queue to go up stretched onto the street.
Easy to get to from Milan (1 hr train)

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with this accommodation. A few minutes before our arrival we received a call from Cascina Mirandola that there were no more rooms available for us. They had selected another hotel for us. There was no explanation or apology for this situation. The other hotel was very far away so we asked for another suggestion. We were assured that we would pay the same price as contractually agreed in the booking. As it was already evening, we drove to the suggested accommodation and stayed there overnight. The next morning we had to pay a much higher price for this overnight stay. The owner phoned Cascina Mirandola to clarify how to proceed. Casicina Mirandola promised to transfer the difference to us. After very slow communication by phone and email, we are still waiting for our money and an apology. Our calls are no longer answered. We feel cheated and cannot recommend Cascina Mirandola under any circumstances.

I must say, after everything I have heard about the beautiful Como, I was left disappointed. Maybe my expectations were a little to high but I didn't like it there. It is a cute town but nothing special. Doesn't feel Italian, if that's what you're looking for. Also, is it quite pricey. I will not be coming back here.

Breathtaking view of the lake and so many interesting places to visit. It was relaxing to simply be able to walk along the lake and be awed by the surrounding nature. It’s mesmerizing! I didn’t think I needed more time to spend in Como. I would have loved to stay longer to explore the many gems of these places.
But again, an opportunity to return in the near future.
This is the best place to stay in Como. I almost booked two hotel rooms at Hotel Barchetta Excelsior but I am so much happier we stayed here. A group of 4 rented two rooms which were like top-tier hotel rooms -- Impeccable use of space, design, comfort, and cleanliness. The property is located in the very center of the city. On top of that, Alessandro is an amazing host who recommended many places for dinner. Congratulations to him on this beautiful place! We liked it so much that we decided to rent one extra night and stay in Como.
The location of this property is very good. You come out of it and there are so many restaurants in 20 metre square and all of them very good.
This is 5 mins by cab from hotel to Railway station and 5 min walk to the ship pier.
It has a very good view of the lake como once you are out of the room. The room is spacious and very private.
The host is very friendly and super helpful. On our day of leaving due to strike there were no taxis and the host dropped us to station.
We have stayed at the Barchetta on two previous occasions. The hotel is ideally situated by the lake and in easy walking distance of the many boutique shops and restaurants in Como. On this occasion we brought some friends and as per our requests were given three rooms next to each other with views over the piazza to the lake. Breakfast was very good, continental and hot offerings with only a slight gliche on one morning with a delay for croissants to be put out.
We loved everything about this hotel! It’s conveniently situated within a short 10 (or less) minute walk from the touristic Como shops and restaurants. Very comfortable, clean, modern, check-in was all digital and a breeze! They even have a lower level with a washing machine, fooseball table, and a few board games. Area feels safe, we didn’t have a problem walking back late at night.
Takes about 20 minutes to walk to Giovani Train Station.
The location was amazing, very close to Como Lago Nord train Station, supermarket, Cathedral and ferries. Highly recommend.
Our apartment was on the 4th floor and had a decent kitchen, very comfy bed, good shower and a fantastic restaurant below the apartments (we spent nearly 4 weeks in Italy and Restaurente Sociale had the best risotto out of everywhere that I tried. We only wish we had gone back more than once.
Despite the fact this is a budget one-star hotel, you will find everything you need in the room like hangers, a kettle, coffee, tea, etc.
The building is in a great location in the very center of the city, literally 2 minutes from the Lake of Como.
My room had a tiny balcony with a view of the city streets and the mountains beyond.
I am hesitate to write anything positive as I want this hotel all to MYSELF! Leave front door, Lake Como before you. Bathroom was enormous (walk in rain shower). Room quiet and large. Free amenities (water, wine, cookies, etc.) Nespresso coffee machine in room. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
This is a first class, grand hotel with rooms, food, and staff to match. It enjoys a fantastic location right on the lake in the centre of Como. The room was spotless, with crisp linens and smart decor. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Best of all was the service of the staff. Thank you.
Great location, near everything in Como/ right by the lake. Fantastic front desk staff, who were really great with helping us and had all the info about the hotel and Como!!Bedroom was very nice and had everything we needed :)
fluent English speaking staff
The hotel was extremely clean and tidy. The friendliness and the helpful staff made it even more of an amazing experience in all. Alberto the butler was a pleasure to have around and gave us a beautiful tailored tour around como which I highly recommend!
The hotel was perfect - a lovely large room, which was exceptionally clean and in a great position for the lake and the countless restaurants. We had a lovely couple of days and I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Como.
Absolutely beautiful, spacious hotel room — great location and views of Lake Como. The waterfall shower and bathtub are amazing. Right in front of the ferry, close to restaurants and gelato. Loved having access to the terrace as well.
Amazing little gem 💎 right in the center of Como. Lots of restaurants on the square, BUT very quite inside hotel. 3 minutes walk down a little street to lake Como, ferry's more bars ,restaurants and Amazing views.
The design/look and feel of the building was really nice and the view from the room out to the lake was amazing. Also the best staff in a hotel I have ever met. 10/10 you must stay here if going to Lake Como.
Always our go to hotel in Como. Stunning Villa in Cernobbio with Relaxing ambience and beautiful vistas of the lake.
Amazing Restaurant, bar and breakfast!
Very attentive staff & Exceptionally clean!
Hotel and staff were wonderful, breakfast was excellent so much choice. Rooftop bar and pool were great and distance to Lake Como was about 15 minute easy walk. A great place to stay. ❤️🇮🇹
Very well made hotel and excellent view as just by the lake. It is further away from the como city center so in order to go there you will have to take taxi as it is an half an hour .
Perfect location in Como. Beautiful rooms, great staff and a delicious free breakfast every morning. The best of the three hotels we stayed at during our trip.
